Programmes
Activities
The Foundation's work is organised in five areas. Each is carried out under the responsibility of the board and, where relevant, under the patronage of the Royal House.
Heritage and archives
Identification, conservation and documentation of the historical heritage of the House of Petrović-Njegoš: archives, correspondence, iconography, objects and places of memory in Montenegro and abroad. The Foundation cooperates with museums, archives and academic institutions and supports research and publication.
Patronage and charitable programmes
Support for humanitarian, educational and social initiatives in Montenegro and in the Montenegrin diaspora. Requests for patronage are examined by the Foundation's patronage office and decided by the board according to the Foundation's purpose and means.
Cultural initiatives
Exhibitions, commemorations, publications and events that promote Montenegro's history, arts and traditions, often in partnership with cultural institutions, municipalities and civil-society organisations.
Institutional and dynastic representation
The Foundation supports the Royal House in its institutional role: official correspondence, representation at ceremonies and commemorations, relations with other royal and princely houses, and the administration of the Dynastic Orders through its Chancellery.
Responsible giving
Donations and partnerships are subject to due diligence. The Foundation applies a screening procedure to donors and partners, keeps proper accounts under Belgian foundation law and reports to its board. Enquiries about supporting the Foundation can be addressed to the secretariat.
